Zero-Sum DKP system
Dusk Raiders uses the Zero-Sum DKP system for all loot distribution except tier tokens, bags, and bags of spoils or similar items. When a boss is killed, loot drops. Each item of loot is then put up for bid/rolls. Dusk Raiders uses an addon called GRSS to track DKP and loot distribution. Each person interested in obtaining the item rolls 1-1000, and the GRSS addon records all the rolls.
Note: The roll signifies only that they want the item, and nothing else. More often than not, the person with the highest roll does not win the item.
The Master Looter and the officers then award the item to the person with the highest dkp. The person who receives the item is charged 25 dkp. Everyone else who is in the raid at the time of the kill gets 25/24 dkp, or slightly more than one dkp, credited to their account. The GRSS addon uploads the data to the website after every raid, so everyone can review their dkp and their standing at any time. Please bring any errors to the attention of the officers as soon as possible for correction.

Tier tokens are distributed by free roll (subject to priority) only. No dkp is charged.
Patterns/crafting items
The general goal is to get patterns and crafting materials (primals, nethers, etc.) into the hands of characters who can and will use them in order to improve the guild's capabilities. Currently, WotLK does not appear to have any drops of crafting patterns, or items used for crafting. If patterns drop in the future, they will cost no dkp and will be distributed by free roll using priority. If at all possible, they should be distributed to officers before they go to anyone else. Why? Because we want any patterns to remain available to the guild as much as possible. If the pattern is BOE, it must be learned on the spot. If BOP items used for crafting drop, they will be distributed to the person with the appropriate pattern. A distribution list will be developed on the forum for these craftable items. People on the list will be expected to provide all other materials for the crafting of these items.
Off-spec rolls
Certain classes like warriors, druids, shamans, paladins, and priests deal with "off specs" in addition to their primary spec. In other words, they will build multiple sets of gear to fulfill multiple rolls. If at all possible, an item is to go to someone for their primary spec over someone for their off spec. If everyone has passed on the item, people may express an interest in the item for their "off spec". That is fine, but there is no discount in dkp. the item will still cost 25 dkp.
Keep in mind, the raid leader has the authority to overrule this at any time and may distribute the item to someone for "off spec" and may discount the dkp all the way to zero, if the raid leader so desires.
This provision is to be used very rarely, as our experience in the past is that when items are discounted, people take advantage of this and wait for all items to be discounted. Liberal use of discounting items in the past have resulted in unfairness and drama.
Bear in mind that it would be expected of all "Guildies" to use common sense and courtesy. Always try to consider if the guild's raid performance will be better served if someone else can better use the drop than you. It is not a requirement; you decide how you want to appear in your fellow mates eyes.
One last item is that the Raid Leader or Master Looter is the final word on each run and should not be subject to verbal abuse or disrespect. The Raid Leader has the authority to override any of the above rules if they feel that the guild will be better served. Be mindful of how you conduct yourself. We all play this game for enjoyment and it is not an easy task to raid lead, so take that into consideration when you address your issue with RL.
