DUSK RAIDER CODE OF CONDUCT
1. Treat other players (includes both DR and non-DR members) with respect. Members should not intentionally try to antagonize or otherwise hinder another player's playing experience. Obviously interactions with the Horde could be exceptions to this rule.
2. Be generous with your time, money, materials, etc if you can afford to. You don't have to give it away, but don't gouge your guildies. Remember, you might be on the receiving end of this as well. Helping a guildie increase his skills, abilities, and combat worthiness makes us all stronger.
3. Prioritize working with your guild. If you can spare the time to help, even if you've been to X a bunch, lend a hand. You might have all your set pieces, but remember what that took you. Helping a guildie increase his skills, abilities, and combat worthiness makes us all stronger.
4. Follow Raid Rules when on a raid or in a group. This includes all raids, not just guild sponsored raids. Rules differ from raid to raid, usually set by the raid leader. These rules usually pertain to looting and jobs while on the raid. Ninjas will not be given any breaks.
4a. Actions that hinder raid progression will not be tolerated. Such actions include (but not limited to): pulling if not the designated puller, 'Leeroy', and intentional wiping of the raid. Disciplinary action will be taken based upon the severity of the actions and their consequences.
5. Practice etiquette if you have to AFK or leave a group. Don't go AFK for extended periods of time without letting the rest of the party know. If you need to leave for whatever reason, give your party-mates advanced notice. Find a suitable replacement if possible.
6. Know and understand the difference between need and greed. Rolling 'need' because you need money is not truly need, it's greed. Even then, be mindful of items that might not be need for another, but might be useful to them. During guild events, your first instinct should be to 'pass' on items to discuss need-greed distribution.
7. Honesty is expected in all game transactions and agreements. If you conduct a transaction with another player, you will uphold your part of it. If you make an agreement with someone, you must adhere to your side of the agreement.
8. Appropriate Language will be used in public forums (includes guild chat and broadcast channels). Cursing, player bashing, and inappropriate content are not acceptable. There are many minors who play this game, some of who are part of DR.
10. Do not contribute in a negative way to the morale of the guild. (Bad mouthing, use of negative/derogatory comments, bothering other guild members in private/public chat, and ill-intended actions will not be tolerated).
11. If you plan to leave DR be upfront about it and tell officers as to the reasons you are leaving. This allows for planning and appropriate recruitment to replace you. Do not secretly apply to other guilds and expect positiive recommendations from DR members or officers.
12. Exploiters, hacks, and unfair mod/add-ons will not be tolerated.
13. Follow and understand the terms and conditions of use set forth by Blizzard's End User License Agreement.
14. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated and will lead to immediate expulsion from the guild. For better or worse, some characteristics you may find while in Dusk Raiders:
Dusk Raiders is a guild lead by and intended for players who like to raid yet maintain a life outside WoW. Dusk Raiders raid for progression AND a good time.
Dusk Raiders is led by players who value committment, generosity, and honesty. Dishonesty and unfair practices are the bane of Dusk Raider's leadership and will be dealt with quickly. Expect leadership to be honest and forthright, items contributed to the guild vault are NOT used as bargained items to benefit a sole beneficiary. As for generosity from leaderhip, leaders can be very forgiving. Member generosity has been exemplified by passing on loot, donations of items, and forgiveness of past grudges. The ability and willingness to move forward is a value we need to all exemplify.
Guild leadership recognizes chatting in the game is part of having fun. As a result, guild chat subjects can range from comical to naughty at times. Mature language may be used to express ideas and beliefs. With that said, members tend to police each other in chat. Guild chat is usually acceptable for ages Teen through Mature. Don't expect 100% clean chat topics. Do expect vulgar language, ideas, and expressions kept OUT of guild chat 98% of the time.
Looking Ahead
Dusk Raiders seeks to maintain a solid, stable guild in which players can enjoy WoW and have fun. Members of DR will be encouraged to participate in new content raids as well as guild events. Leadership is ready to adapt to new gameplay mechanics as they are introduced, as players and as a guild. Older content will not be forgotten, there may be excursions into older content with more challenging setups to keep such content enjoyable, challenging, and fun. Expect core ideas of honesty, fair play, trust, and fun to be carried into the future, those will not be changed. Leadership is intent on serving the greater good of Dusk Raiders to the best of their play time.
Where You Fit In
Applicants, initiates, and new members can expect to be treated fairly, justly, and honestly. New, former, old, and young players will find Dusk Raiders a great place to call home and have FUN while raiding or PVPing. Players looking for a guild with leadership that is respectable and open-minded will find a place in DR. Players wanting to stir up drama should look elsewhere.
Dusk Raiders discourages members to raid with other guilds. Initiates who spend time raiding with other guilds will fare poorly on consideration to stay with DR. Members who have a special circumstance, must get permission ahead of time from an Officer before attending another guild raid. ________________________________________ |
